Terms Of Service
BillCheck is a document organization and billing-question preparation service.
BillCheck is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
The service reviews the engagement letter and legal invoices you provide, organizes billing questions, and prepares a packet you may use to ask your law firm for clarification or discuss with independent counsel.
BillCheck does not promise savings, refunds, billing reductions, disciplinary results, or any particular response from your law firm.
You are responsible for deciding whether to send any message, dispute any bill, or seek legal advice.
Use of your documents to improve the service
By default, we keep the documents you upload and the packet we prepare for you for a limited time so we can operate, quality-check, and improve the service. We use them to check our own work and to make our review process more accurate over time. We do not sell your documents, we do not use them for advertising, and we do not use them to train public AI models.
You can ask us to delete your uploaded documents and your packet at any time using the deletion control or by contacting support. When you do, we remove your original documents, the text we extracted from them, and your prepared packet.
To keep improving the service, we may keep a de-identified summary that does not contain your name, contact details, case or matter numbers, your law firm's name, or the specific amounts and narratives from your documents. That summary describes only general patterns and outcomes and cannot reasonably be traced back to you.
Automated analysis
We analyze your documents using automated (AI) technology to prepare your review. This includes the use of third-party AI service providers who process the document text on our behalf under contractual safeguards, including confidentiality commitments and commitments not to use your documents to train their AI models. We send these providers only the text needed for the review, after a cleaning step, and not your original files or your contact and payment details.
Automated results are always reviewed by a person on our team before we deliver anything to you. The automated analysis supports our review; it does not replace human review, and it is not legal advice.
Your right to delete your documents applies to this processing. Text shared with a third-party AI provider is held only for a limited period under that provider's terms and is subject to the provider's own deletion practices.
Automated analysis may not catch every issue and may occasionally surface something that is not a real concern, which is one reason a person reviews the results before delivery.
